My best friend dramatically blocked me to punish me, and it was the best day of my life.

So I had this friend for seven years who treated every minor disagreement like an emotional hostage negotiation. If you didn't reply to her text within twenty minutes or if you had plans with someone else, she would give you the silent treatment until you bought her coffee and apologized for existing. It was exhausting. three months ago she threw a massive tantrum because I couldn't help her pick out an outfit for a date on a Tuesday night while I was studying for finals. She sent a five-paragraph essay calling me a toxic friend, said she was blocking my number to teach me a lesson, and told me not to contact her until I was ready to make things right. She expected me to blow up her social media, call her from another phone, and beg for her forgiveness like I used to. Instead, I felt this overwhelming wave of RELIEF. I took a deep breath, went to sleep, and woke up the next morning feeling lighter than I had in years. I never called. I never texted. I deleted her thread and just went on with my life. Now she is reaching out through mutual friends asking why I haven't tried to fix things yet. I'm pretending to be "too hurt to talk" just so I don't have to break the peace, but honestly, its the best accidental gift anyone has ever given me. Am I a horrible person for hoping she keeps me blocked forever?
