I've spent over $2000 on impulse purchases through tiktok shop this year

I just added it up. Over $2000 in impulse buys through tiktok Shop. Stuff I didn't need. Stuff I saw for five seconds, thought "oh that's cool" and bought immediately. Half of it is still in boxes. Some of it I forgot I even ordered until it showed up at my door. The algorithm knows my weaknesses better than I do. It knows exactly what to show me and when. A product I wouldn't have searched for becomes something I suddenly "need" because it appeared at the right moment in the scroll. Social commerce isn't just convenient. It's designed to be addictive. There's no friction. No time to reconsider. Just: see it, want it, tap, bought. Dopamine hit. Repeat. And I know what's happening. I see the manipulation. But I keep doing it anyway. I was sitting outside last night with a drink, looking at my bank statement, wondering how I let it get this far. It's not just shopping anymore. It's shopping disguised as entertainment. And that makes it so much harder to stop. Has anyone else fallen into this? Because I don't know how to break the cycle when the store is built into the app I can't stop opening.
