I lied about having a college degree to get an entry-level job six years ago, and now I manage people with advanced degrees.

I dropped out of college during my sophomore year due to some severe family issues. I was broke, desperate and couldn't even get an interview for a basic office job because every single listing required a Bachelor's degree. Out of sheer desperation, I decided to put a fake university on my resume. I claimed I graduated with a degree in business administration. I got hired at a mid-sized logistics firm. They never actually ran a background check or asked for my transcript, which was a lucky miracle. I worked my ass off. I learned everything on the fly, put in sixty-hour weeks, and genuinely became one of the top performers in my department. Within three years, I got promoted to senior analyst. Last year, I was promoted again to department manager. The corporate managment thinks I'm some kind of business prodigy. The irony is absolutely killing me. I am now in charge of hiring, and I literally look at resumes with my fake university on them and reject people for lacking the exact same qualificasion I don't actually have. I even manage three people who have grad degrees from prestigious schools. I live in constant, paralyzing fear that someone will eventually audit my HR records and find out. I want to tell my wife but I'm too ashamed. honestly, I feel like a total fraud every single day.
