No one knows why I really got divorced

I got married when I was 21, I’m now 47, within a year I was separated. My ex became verbally and emotionally abusive within hours. Within a week he was telling me that I could not spend time with my family and friends. He made us move away from my parents. He made me quit my job. He would only give me enough money to buy groceries and would only put enough gas in my car to get to and from the store, I ran out of gas more than once due to traffic or a store not having what I needed. Those are the reasons everyone thinks. The real reason is that he invited his best friend over, then got tired and went to bed. His best friend then raped me. When I woke up my husband and told him, he told me that I was lying and that I slept with his friend and was trying to cover it up. He then made me drive his friend home. His abuse got worse, he went on a “business trip” and I left. He came back and I had left and took the cats. He then moved in with a younger female. She was 18 and lived across the country. He moved back three months later and refused to divorce me. A couple years later, he gave in as I had moved on and he knew I was not going back.
