I've secretly replaced the same mug three times because my boyfriend thinks it's the original one from our first date

Nine years ago, on our first proper date, we ended up in a little gift shop and bought two stupidly cheap matching mugs as a joke. His broke within a year. Mine somehow became “the mug” in our house. Except it actually broke in 2020. I found the exact same one online and replaced it before he noticed. Then replacement #2 cracked last year after I dropped a spoon into it too hard. Found another one on eBay. Two weeks ago I knocked replacement #3 off the counter. At this point the mug has achieved Ship of Theseus status. My boyfriend still occasionally picks it up and says things like “I can't believe this thing survived three apartments.” I always say “I know, right?” I've now located another identical one online and I'm genuinely debating whether continuing this is cute or whether I need to finally admit that the original mug has been dead for six years.
