My embarrassing tinder date

I(28m) need to confess something that still makes me want to crawl into a hole every time I think about it. Last month I matched with this girl on Tinder. Her bio was short, funny, and she had that rare combination of looking like she had her life together and looking like she might actually text back. We talked for four days. The conversation was good: easy, a little flirty, no red flags. She suggested we grab drinks on Friday. I said yes like a man who had not learned anything from previous disasters. I showed up fifteen minutes early (first mistake). She showed up twenty minutes late, which would have been fine if she hadn't spent the next forty minutes talking exclusively about her ex. Not in a "I'm healing" way. In a "he was the one and I'm not over it but also he was toxic and also I still check his Instagram" way. I nodded. I smiled. I asked follow-up questions like a hostage negotiating for more time. Around the forty-five minute mark she looked at me, really looked at me for the first time, and said, "You're a good listener. My ex never listened." Then she reached across the table, took my hand, and whispered, "Do you want to come back to my place?" I should have said no. I should have said I had an early morning. Instead my dumb, lonely brain said, "Yeah, okay." We get to her apartment. She pours us wine. She puts on music. Then she disappears into the bathroom for what felt like twelve years. When she comes out she's wearing an oversized hoodie that very clearly belongs to a man and she looks me dead in the eyes and says: "I need to be honest. I only invited you here because I'm trying to make him jealous. He's in the group chat. Can you just... like... sit on the couch and look like we're hanging out while I post a story?" I sat there for three full seconds processing the fact that I had been reduced to human set dressing. Then I stood up, grabbed my jacket, and said the only coherent sentence I could manage: I hope the algorithm is kinder to both of us." I left. She posted the story anyway. I was fully visible in the background holding a wine glass like a confused extra in someone else's breakup movie. I unmatched & unfollowed her on the walk home. Then I ordered Thai food and watched two episodes of a show I wasn't really watching. I don't even feel angry. Just upst & sad at how efficiently the night managed to go nowhere. Anyway.. Rate my failure from 1 to 10. Be honest. I can take it๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ
