I'm a married teacher (30F), and a student's father's comment at our Teacher's Day function is living rent free in my head
I'm 30, married and teaching at a school. On Teacher's Day, we had a function and I was watching the kids perform when one of my student's fathers stood next to me. We were making small talk when he casually mentioned that I looked lovely...even from behind and other he made other compliments too.
It was subtle enough that I could pretend I imagined it. But I can't coz it keeps playing in my head while teaching, while cooking, even when my husband is talking to me.
And that's the part that shames me. I didn't feel offended. I liked it, being noticed like that after years of feeling invisible.
His kid has another performance next month, and I don't know how I'll face him. Is something wrong with me for feeling this way? How do I just move past it?
