showing a friend my boobs kind of healed my insecurity

slightly exagerated title. I used to feel very, very insecure about my boob size. When this happened, I was kind of flat but still clinged on to the pipe dream that they'd keep growing. Update, they didn't. So, one day I was hanging out with a male friend. At some point, I tried to take off my hoodie and damn near pulled my shirt off along with it. It took me a second to realize but then I was just overwhelmingly embarrassed. Very awkward moment for the both of us, but he pretty quickly snapped out of it and did his best to comfort me. That more or less lead to me opening up about my insecurity with him. Like most guys, he didn't seem okay just listening to me vent and went into solution mode instead. He reassured me guys don't care and that from what he saw for a second, they didn't look too bad. There was probably a better way of saying that but I appreciated it. Doesn't mean I really believed it. He really insisted though, and that kind of made me want to prove him wrong. Like, see? I AM unattractive, believe me now? So I asked if I could actually show him, on purpose this time, and get his honest reaction. He said sure, so I pulled my shirt back up and tried to gauge how he felt. Genuinely, never have I felt such a rush of validation and confidence. I could tell he was trying to be respectful, but he was so visibly flustered, there was no hiding it. That moment proved to me that guys could look at me and not just see a boy. Obviously it didn't "cure" me or anything but that moment with him stands out to me as something that opened up to my eyes to how I could still be pretty and attractive without necessarily being super shapely or feminine, and it's just kind of a warm memory in my head that I've never really shared with anyone before.
