I started being deliberately "racist" in front of my Partner's family

So I am a European in a long-term relationship with an American I love more than anything. But her family can be... pretty conservative. Not outright crazy, but a few moderate Trump supporters, with some pretty racist tendencies (they all live in the Midwest btw.) I'm a fairly political person, with a focus on WW2 history in my studies, so one could say I don't really like this, but I also don't want to debate my family in law. So I did something else: Instead of arguing, I just started being hella racist too, but ONLY towards white, rural Americans. My grandfather in law drops something about black people being lazy? Well, not really their fault so many grow up in the South, where schools and towns both are governed by the most violent inbreds this nation has to offer. Deport the Illegals for commititng crimes? Sure buddy, but deport those low-IQ Alabama hicks right with them, good civilized people shouldn't have to deal with crime rates that high. This country would not only be better, but the average IQ would be 20 points higher if Sherman had finished the damn job. And of course I emphasize that they are not all like this. Ater all, some are definitely good poeple (this phrase got my favorite reaction btw.) I know it's bad, but it gets the funnniest, most stunned looks and replies, and it's much, much easier on my cortisol levels than having to debate a boomer who doesn't know the first thing about actual political policy and whose brain is beyond adapting to new info. I get to out-ignorant them and it is delightful to see them try to process the same shit they or their favorite politician say about brown people from a (supposedly) elitist European who kind of gets away with it, because in their racist worldview that makes me somehow an authority. Problem is, this has genuinely affected the way I think about the US South. Of course I know people from there, and I know how kind and loving they are, but man, if you see interviews with the actual rural people...let's say those insults are becoming not that far from what I genuinely believe. My partner doesn't mind, she doesn't like confrontation so she just doesn't want any arguments, but she backs me 100% on this. I'm still a little worried this kind of thinking worms its way into my actual beliefs, should I stop?
