I have been pretending to make homemade candles for my family for two years and the secret is getting harder to keep

I run a small candle resale business from my apartment in Cincinnati. I source finished candles wholesale, rebrand them with my own labels, and sell through a few local markets and my Etsy shop. It is a legitimate operation. I am not ashamed of it. The problem started when my mom visited two years ago and I had excess inventory sitting out. She assumed I made them myself and before I could correct her she had already told my aunt I was a chandler. I let it go because explaining felt complicated. She bought three for $48 with a $10 off every $100 spent loyalty discount I gave her as family pricing. She cried. Said she was proud of me for building something with my hands. I have not built anything with my hands. I source through Alibaba, a couple of domestic candle wholesalers, and one private label supplier in Oregon. The candles are genuinely good. I just did not make them. Last month my cousin asked me to teach her to make candles. I told her I work in a very specific temperature controlled environment and beginners would find it frustrating. She nodded like that made sense. My mom has since told approximately everyone she knows that her daughter makes candles by hand. I am running out of excuses and I do not know how to walk this back.
