I fucked up big time 🥲😭

My manager came around with a birthday card and quietly pointed towards my colleague who was standing with my other colleague. I filled it in and put it on her desk without thinking much about it. Much to my surprise when she came back, I casually said, “Fill it in, but don’t make noise because David might hear.” She looked at the card, looked at me, and said, “It’s for me.” That was the moment I realised I fucked up. It was actually for HERRRRR 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I cannot even explain the feeling in that moment. It was like everything just dropped inside me. My manager looked at me and smiled. I knew it was cold. I felt heat rush to my face. I could feel myself turning red, and my eyes filled up straight away. I just wanted to disappear. Everyone laughed, and I know it probably seemed small from the outside, but it did not feel small to me at all. It felt huge.
